CCAA’s Demo Artist April 26: Jennifer Anderson

Our next CCAA meeting is April 26, 2021 at 4 pm.* We look forward to our member’s Zoom meeting with Jennifer Anderson. The focus will be Florals & Birds,  Ink and watercolor.

Jennifer Anderson hails from deep roots in New England, but has made Monterey her home for the past 14 years. Traditionally trained as a Printmaker, Jennifer has found her artistic voice expanding in recent years with explorations in watercolor and oil painting. She is a current artist at the Carmel Art Association, where she also serves on the Board of Directors.

Jennifer L. Anderson is a painter and printmaker working in many disciplines. Her iconic and evocative imagery arises from her experiences as a woman and a mother, as well as her love of the natural world.
Anderson was born in Ware, Massachusetts and raised on a farm in North Brookfield. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Connecticut in 1989, she pursued graduate studies, exhibited throughout New England, and raised three children.

“Art-making is my key to the secret garden, my journey through the looking glass; it provides never-ending possibilities of exploration and connection. Some imagery seems to be hard-wired into my soul, especially birds. I am captivated by their movements, their forms and the space they create with their actions.
In our current world of high-tech, uber-fast everything, I create intimate work at a very slow pace. For me the printmaking and painting processes influence the creation as much as the content does. Each step to the final piece involves the artist’s hand, with direct mark-making influencing the development of every image.”

Due to directives from Monterey County in response to Covid19, we will postpone our on-location meetings.  Our demos will be “on-line,” as a live Zoom call.  *Members will be notified of the Zoom link.  *A Zoom recording of the call will be available to the public below.

During times with non-Covid concerns, the Central Coast Art Association meets 6:30-8 pm at the El Estero Park, with a meet & greet time until 6:45 when announcements & the demonstration by the guest artist begins. Meeting/demonstration ends approximately at 8 pm.   777 Pearl St (next to Dennis the Menace Park), Monterey, the fourth Monday of each month (please check for holiday schedules). Attendance is free and open to the public.
