CCAA’s Demo Artist, October 28: Tamara Keiper

CCAA welcomes Tamara Keiper presenting “Perspective for Artists.”  Many artists can draw and paint but perspective is one area that some will fudge on or just avoid. Tamara will go over a condensed mini-class on Perspective, talking about atmospheric perspective, 1, 2, and 3 point perspective and showing depth within a painting. She’ll talk about a station point, picture plane, horizon line, and various Vanishing points. Tamara will explain how to apply this to the landscape and figures as well as buildings. This will be a solid foundation for all levels and a good review for the experts!

Keiper’s background in architectural rendering entailed taking the blueprints of a proposed building and drawing them(render) in perspective for the client to see what his finished building will look like…. before it was built. She would also add Landscaping, color, and sometimes figures. This was usually done in watercolor but she could do it in any medium.

The Central Coast Art Association meets 6:30-8 pm at the El Estero Park, with a meet & greet time until 6:45 when announcements & the demonstration by the guest artist begins. Meeting/demonstration ends approximately at 8 pm.   777 Pearl St (next to Dennis the Menace Park), Monterey, the fourth Monday of each month (please check for holiday schedules). Attendance is free and open to the public.
