SUMMARY:Julia Munger Seelos Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Do you paint plein aire?  Would you like to learn how?\nClick here to register for a one day in studio workshop with renowned Artist\, Julia Munger Seelos. \nSaturday August 1 from 10am – 4pm\nAt Asilomar Conference Center\, Pacific Grove \n$75 per person \nThe experience of painting alla prima can be both rewarding and frustrating. A few basic principles coupled with careful observation will help you grow in your journey to become a better painter. Julia will describe and demonstrate her techniques and will work with each of the participating artists providing gentle guidance as they work on their individual project either in a classroom setting or optionally at a nearby outdoor location. Participation is limited to 10 artists so sign up early to secure your spot. \nJulia has devoted herself to painting full time after a design career in retail. She works alla prima using oils to catch the quickly changing light and shadows. She paints the rural countryside of the California central coast and the dramatic canyons of the Southwest. \nJulia is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society and the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association. She has been invited five times to paint in the Celebration of Art at the Grand Canyon. Julia has had works juried into the Triton Museum Salon Exhibitions\, American Impressionist National Shows\, the Santa Cruz Statewide\, and received numerous awards in MBPAPA Signature Shows. She received Best of Show in the LPAPA Best of Plein Air. Her paintings have been accepted into California Art Club shows in Pacific Grove\, Pasadena\, and Pleasanton to name a few. Julia has done many plein air events across the country\, including 14 years in the Carmel Art Festival.  \nJulia attended the Rhode Island School of Design on a merit scholarship and furthered her studies at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Industrial Design. Eventually settling in the SF Bay area she continued her art studies and graduated with honors from San Jose State University with a degree in Design/Illustration.  \nThe workshop fee is $75.00.
