Marcia Owen Jeiroudi

Marcia is a fourth generation Southern Californian who attended school at the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with a BA in The Practice of Arts. A year later she was accepted to the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC to study photography and design.

For the next 25 years, she resided and raised a family in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. ‘In Abu Dhabi I painted in pastels mainly for their portability.’ Marcia studied watercolor from a popular British painter with whom she traded photography for painting lessons.

In Abu Dhabi she participated in many exhibitions at local galleries.

After returning to US and settling on California’s Central Coast, Marcia began in earnest to paint in oils and found a new passion for the craft.

‘I mainly paint landscapes as the vista in this area is endlessly beautiful, day after day, in any weather. My work attempts to capture the essence of the beautiful Central California Coast landscape.’
