Artist Journey:
Tommy Shearer is a California-based cross-media artist with over 40 years of artistic evolution, whose work bridges metalwork, abstract painting, mixed-media design, and woodworking. Tommy blends technical craftsmanship with poetic storytelling, often exploring themes of love, memory, solitude, and nature.

From the earliest sketches to the thousands of works that now define my portfolio, my creative journey has been guided by curiosity, experimentation, and an enduring fascination with color, texture, and form.

Every artwork begins with a title and a story. The narrative comes first—an idea, a feeling, a fragment of inspiration. Once the story is complete, the artwork begins to take shape and form. From there, the question emerges: What happens if…? That question drives me to test, to fail, to refine, and ultimately to create something unexpected.
