Why I Paint
A memory, a mood, a walk in the neighborhood, a model posing, or a photo from my travels may trigger the beginning of new artwork.
Painting is like a puzzle to put together; perhaps a thousand decisions. I am a slow painter and may repaint a piece several times before I am satisfied it is the best I can do.
I paint because I love doing it. I have been an artist all of my life.
I hope that never changes.
Career:
After a 25 year career as a real estate broker at Lake Tahoe, and earlier stints as a high school instructor and a working jeweler/metalsmith, I moved to Carmel. The creative spirit in this area inspired me to go back to canvas, and paint.
My husband Jim and I added a large studio to our home.
I work there everyday, with my companion Samantha, best dog ever.
What a great life!
